TRIBUTE TO GEORGE COWIE

Everyone at Jasmine was devastated in August 2006 when we heard that our popular Chairman George Cowie was diagnosed with Cancer of the Oasophegus and Gullet. We were also told that it had also spread to his bones and was terminal. George fought the disease bravely without ever complaining but he lost his battle on 12th January 2007 aged 59. There were over 500 people at his funeral which showed just what a remarkable character he was and how many lives he had touched.

Unusually in these circumstances, the funeral tea was one to remember just as George had requested. 108 bottles of Moet were consumed in total and the celebration of his life lasted for more than 9 hours!

Thanks for the memories George, gone but never ever forgotten.
